Why we do what we do
Cake Stories is about banishing the bland and celebrating the bold! We make standout cakes for standout coffee shops because life's too short to blend in.
We make cakes that turn heads - bold, handmade bakes for coffee shops that refuse to fade into the crowd. Our cakes are crafted by proper Geordie bakers who know their way around a mixing bowl, and yes, they taste as good as they look (the bakes, not the bakers!).
We ship next-day nationwide so coffee shop owners can serve knockout hunks of deliciousness without chaining their best team members to the oven. You focus on the flat whites—we’ll handle the brownies. Our motto? Make Cake Not War! And we live by it. Because the world’s chaotic enough without dry sponge and boring traybakes.

The cake
Cake. It’s what we do. And we’re pretty flippin’ good at it. Square cakes are our signature bake and you can fill your coffee shop with them the way we've filled ours, creating that kid-in-a-sweet-shop feeling for grownups because we deserve it too!
We bake over 150 different varieties and flavours with new creations regularly added so always check in on our wholesale pages (sign up at the top of the screen to see them), at our Coffee House & Cakery in Newcastle's Hoults Yard or on our social media to see which flavours we are loving today.
Oh, and pssstt… you don't have to be a commercial customer to order our square cakes anywhere in the UK - just set yourself up an account anyway and have a browse!

Our Newcastle shop
Cake Stories Jesmond - where it all began! Opened in 2015 with the aim of creating a place where we’d like to hang out, although we've moved location now to Hoults Yard Ouseburn, we’re still so proud to be part of the great Newcastle food and drink scene. Our famous cake cabinet is always stocked with loads of cakes, brownios and bakes. Perfect with a coffee, tea, a glass of wine or a craft ale. Open for sit-in and takeout until 4pm, 7 days a week. Bangin’.

This is where the magic happens. Our brilliant team of bakers are dedicated to baking the best cakes and treats for you… and to having fun! We craft everything by hand so no compromises are made as every single piece of cakey goodness is lovingly created by Hannah, Sara, Gemma, Charlotte, Lizi, Danil, Jasmine or Anna!
