Where it all began...
Cake Stories first opened its doors in May 2015 on a little street of boutique indie businesses in Jesmond, Newcastle. For 9 happy years we loved being part of that community and filling the air with the smell of fresh baking! Eventually we outgrew that gorgeous little place though, so in May 2024 we handed over the keys to our friends at Lemon Grass who now fill the air with the beautiful aromas of asian fusion food and the sounds of a warm welcome!

Our new home - our Hoults Yard store (open since 2021) - where, as well as a warm Cake Stories welcome, you'll find our Shipping Container Lounges and can enjoy cocktails, pizzas, freshly made sandwiches and our famous Afternoon Teas & Bottomless Brunches. There are also lots of vintage Cake Stories comforts for the OG regulars too - lots of loose leaf teas, over-the-top hot chocolates, etc. as well as more than ever of our gorgeous too-hard-to-choose-between cakes!

We opened our dedicated bakehouse across town in late 2019 when we needed to expand our baking team in order to meet demand for our shops, our wholesale customers and our online postal bakes. It's where the bakers whip up all sorts of magic whilst playing the most eclectic playlists a stand mixer ever heard! Our operations team are also based here, with our office built glamorously above one of the kitchens.
